Cataracts typically occur with age. It is when the natural lens of the eye gets cloudy. When you have a cataract, it appears you are looking through a dirty or foggy window. Cataracts sometime occur at an early age if you have had trauma, diabetes, been on steroids, or had iritis in the eye. Some people can actually be born with cataracts also.
Symptoms of cataracts:
- Cloudy and blurry vision that does not improve with blinking
- Glare and halos around light
- Trouble seeing in dim light or at night
- Changing eyeglass prescription
- Colors that appear faded
