Blepharitis is a common condition occurring when the eyelids become inflamed.

Symptoms of Blepharitis:

  • The eyelids can become red and swollen
  • The eye can become irritated and itchy
  • The eyes can sting and burn.

The lids can also get crusty with blepharitis. Blepharitis can flare up when there is an overgrowth of bacteria around the eyelashes or when the oil glands in the eyelids are not functioning properly.
